Apply updates during a maintenance window
Because a firmware update can need a restart, plan it for a maintenance window rather than during peak use. Install updates from Settings, then restart when asked.
Back up first
Before a firmware or BIOS update, make sure your data is backed up. Updates are designed to be safe, but a backup is always the right habit.
