Draft for legal review. This is a working draft prepared for the Calyraen legal team to review, revise, and approve before launch. It is not yet a final or legally binding policy. Details that depend on our registered entity and jurisdiction are described in general terms and will be confirmed before publication.
This Privacy Policy explains how Calyraen collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our websites, buy our products, create an account, or use our services. It also describes the choices you have and the rights you can exercise. We have tried to write it in plain language so that it is easy to follow.

Who we are and what this policy covers
Calyraen designs and builds its own computers (Stratus laptops, Vantage desktops, Atlas workstations, and Forge servers), develops the operating system that runs on them (Calyraen OS), and operates a range of services. These include our Platforms for creators and sellers, our Bank and travel services (Verda banking, Vela Air, Dash ride-hailing, and Ventures), our Entertainment offerings, and the Calyraen Foundation, which supports free education, online safety, and health research.
This policy applies to the personal information we handle when you use this website and the accounts and services offered through it. Some individual products and services may have their own supplementary privacy notices that add to or, where stated, replace parts of this policy. If there is a conflict, the notice specific to that product or service controls for that service.
For the purposes of data protection law, the Calyraen entity that decides how and why your information is processed is the data controller. Because we operate through more than one legal entity, the specific controller may depend on the product or service you use. If you would like to know which entity is responsible for your information, please reach out through our contact page at /support/contact.
Information we collect
We collect information in three main ways: information you give us directly, information we collect automatically when you use our services, and information we receive from other sources.
Account details. When you create an account or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, username, password (stored in a hashed form), and any preferences or settings you choose. Depending on the service, we may also collect a profile photo, business or seller details, and verification information.
Order and payment information. When you place an order or subscribe to a service, we collect your billing and shipping addresses, the items or services you purchased, order history, and details needed to process the transaction. Payments are handled by our payment processors. We receive confirmation of a payment and limited details such as the card type and the last few digits, but we do not store full card numbers on our own systems.
Usage and device data. When you use our websites and services, we automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, referring pages, the pages you view, the actions you take, and the dates and times of your visits. We use this information to keep our services running, to keep them secure, and to understand how they are used.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, measure performance, and, where you allow it, support marketing. You can find more detail in the section below and in our Cookie Policy.
Information from other sources. We may receive information from service providers, payment processors, fraud prevention partners, and, if you sign in through a third party, from that provider. We combine this with information we already hold in order to provide and improve our services.
Cookies and your choices
Our cookie banner lets you choose which categories of cookies you allow. The categories are:
- Strictly necessary (always on). These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They include our session cookie and the XSRF-TOKEN cookie, which keep you signed in and protect against certain kinds of attack.
- Preferences (functional). These remember choices you make, such as language or display settings, so we can offer a more personalized experience.
- Analytics. These help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Where enabled, they may include Google Analytics cookies (for example _ga, _gid, and _gat).
- Marketing. These help us measure and deliver relevant advertising. Where enabled, they may include cookies such as _gcl, _fbp, and fr.
You can accept or reject the optional categories at any time using the cookie settings on our site. Rejecting optional cookies will not stop you from using the core parts of the service. For more detail, please see our Cookie Policy.

- Meet our legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations, and enforce our terms.
The legal bases for processing
Where data protection law requires a legal basis to process your information, we rely on the following:
- Contract. We process your information to provide the products and services you have asked for and to carry out our agreement with you (for example fulfilling an order or managing your account).
- Consent. We rely on your consent for certain activities, such as optional analytics and marketing cookies and marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time, and doing so does not affect processing that already took place before you withdrew it.
- Legitimate interests. We process some information to run our business responsibly, such as securing our services, preventing fraud, understanding how our services are used, and improving them. We only rely on this basis where our interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
- Legal obligation. We process information where we must do so to comply with the law, such as keeping financial records or responding to lawful requests from authorities.
When and with whom we share information
We share personal information only when it is needed to run our services or when we are required to by law. We share it with:
- Service providers. Companies that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, delivery and logistics, customer support tools, email delivery, security, and analytics. They may only use your information to provide services to us and must protect it.
- Payment processors. Trusted providers that process payments securely on our behalf.
- Other Calyraen entities. Where different parts of Calyraen work together to provide a product or service to you.
- Legal and safety recipients. Authorities, regulators, courts, or advisors where we are required to share information by law, or where sharing is necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public, or to prevent fraud or harm.
- Business transfers. If Calyraen is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it for their own independent marketing without your consent.
International transfers
Calyraen operates in more than one country, and our service providers may also be located in different countries. This means your information may be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from locations outside the country where you live. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to make sure it is protected, for example by using recognized transfer mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses or by transferring to countries that offer an adequate level of protection. You can contact us to learn more about the safeguards we use.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, and then we delete it or make it anonymous. How long we keep information depends on the type of information and why we hold it. For example, we keep account information for as long as your account is active, and we keep order and payment records for the period required by tax, accounting, and legal rules. When we no longer need information, we securely delete it or remove details that identify you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:
- Access. Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances.
- Portability. Ask to receive certain information in a portable format, or ask us to transfer it to another provider where technically possible.
- Objection. Object to certain processing, including processing based on our legitimate interests and processing for direct marketing.
- Restriction. Ask us to limit how we use your information in certain circumstances.
- Withdraw consent. Withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on it, without affecting processing that already took place.
- Complain to a supervisory authority. Lodge a complaint with your local data protection or privacy regulator. We would welcome the chance to address your concerns first, so please consider contacting us before you do.
To exercise any of these rights, please reach out through /support/contact. We may need to verify your identity before we act on a request, and we will respond within the time required by law. These rights are subject to limits and exceptions under the law that applies to you.
How we protect your information
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. These include encryption in transit, access controls, secure development practices, monitoring, and limiting access to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we work continuously to protect your information and to improve our safeguards. If you have an account, please help keep it safe by using a strong, unique password and keeping your login details private.
Children's privacy
Our services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age at which consent is required in their country. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without the appropriate consent, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it. Some services may set a higher minimum age, which will be stated in the terms for that service.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice, such as an email or an in-product message where appropriate. We encourage you to review this policy from time to time so you stay informed about how we handle your information.
How to contact us
If you have questions about this policy or about how we handle your information, or if you would like to exercise your rights, please reach out through our contact page at /support/contact. Requests that relate to a specific product or service should mention that service so we can direct them to the right team within our registered entity.
