The workstation lives in a standby state between lessons rather than fully off, so a tap on the reader brings it and the panel up in under eight seconds. There is no spinning disk to wait on, no fan to spin up, and no full boot between periods. Overnight it patches and sleeps, so the first teacher of the day meets a machine that is ready, not one that is still thinking about updates. Modern standby is set in the management profile, not left to chance.
Heat leaves the sealed aluminium case by conduction, so there is no fan to pull chalk dust and paper fibres through the machine and no bearing to wear out mid-year. Silence matters in a room where a teacher is talking over it, and a fanless design removes the single part most likely to fail in a classroom. The M.2 NVMe drive has nothing to spin, so it survives a knocked panel and opens a large slide deck without a stall. Fewer moving parts is fewer call-outs.
